Head to the North and venture into the waters of Rio Tejo, towards the Castle of Almorol, erected on a fluvial island and on which innumerable legends are based.
Going up a little further north, you can go to the town of Tomar with its Castle, and the Convent of Christ.
Returning again closer to the Coast, you can pass through Batalha, and visit the monastery erected in one of the most celebrated places in the History of Portugal .
Once back to Alma, you can end the day by walking through Nazaré, a historic fishing village, today known worldwide because of its waves, which have allowed it to hit records from across the globe, annually. With luck, you might bump into Garret McNamara!
